Girl Scouts @Penn held their annual STEM-themed event called GUTS (Girls Understanding Technology and Science) in DRL on Saturday, November 17th from 11am – 3pm. The theme this year was “If you can dream it, you can build it.” WiCS members volunteered to help lead the workshops; There were three sessions: 3D online modeling, structural/architectural design, and app design. Former WiCS Residential manager Audrey Liu was the main leader of the app design workshop and did a fantastic job!
The Girl Scouts learned how to make their own 3D-modeled ring, how to design an efficient technology app in teams, and how to build strong bridges with spaghetti and tape. It was a lot of fun!
